A quick look at the easiest way to create PowerShell modules. PowerWF (http://www.powerwf.com) is used to create a PowerShell module that allows you to use the Speech API (SAPI) and create message boxes from within PowerShell.
In this demo we deploy a PowerCLI script that we’d transcribed to a workflow using PowerWF earlier to an Agent to run automatically every 3 seconds. As a result of that script running as a workflow in the agent we see ESX Memory Usage in the local computer’s Performance Monitor.
In this demo we create a couple of workflows to Power On and Power Off a Virtual Machine then deploy them to PowerGUI. From within PowerGUI we can run those workflows in context by clicking on ‘Run Workflow’ and choosing the the workflow. The selected virtual machines are automatically bound as input parameters to the selected workflow.
This is a follow-up on yesterday’s video ‘PowerCLI + PowerWF = Awesome’ where we go through the process step-by-step of creating a workflows from a PowerShell script.
