Devfarm Software is pleased to announce that their VMware vSphere client plug-in, PowerVI – PowerScripter is now available. PowerVI is a unique tool that lets users automate their vSphere management and administration by running prebuilt and custom PowerShell scripts directly from the vSphere client.

PowerScripter delivers many predefined functions for common admin tasks and is capable of handling hundreds of custom scripts for direct usage from a dynamically generated context menu within the VMware client (for connections to vCenter, vSphere 4, ESX 3.5 or ESX 3i). PowerShell and PowerCLI Scripts can be easily created, modified and tested using PowerSE – Professional PowerShell Script Editor, which is included with the product.

“I knew we were getting a great product when we took over development of PowerScripter,” said Jim Hofer, head of Devfarm Software’s virtualization business unit. “But even I was surprised by how many customers have reported increased efficiency in managing their vSphere environment with the help of PowerVI.”

Devfarm Software plans to add tighter integration between PowerVI and their flagship product, PowerWF in the coming months. This integration will make developing and running vSphere automation tasks easier than ever.

PowerWF & PowerSE 2.4.1 Released

If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.

- Reid Hoffman

PowerWF 2.4 was released just 1 week ago but as with any release, we’re never entirely satisfied. Today we’ve pushed up PowerWF version 2.4.1. In this release are a few very good performance optimizations that’ll speed up both two-way editing in PowerWF AND the responsiveness of PowerSE. Also in this release are bugfixes for every reported problem by the thousands of you who downloaded 2.4. Lastly, as a surprise for our very vocal Twitter friends we checked off a few items from their UI wishlists; e.g. close buttons and context menus on PowerSE document tabs.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Go get those bits! http://powerwf.com/download
